BPAL description: Dusty seeds, sedge, brown amber, and sandalwood.

Sniffed: Light yellow oil. Sharp and mildly sweet, a little almost citrusy, woody in a polished, oily way. Definitely a distinct powdery, dusty amber base below.

BPAL description: Milk cresting on an ocean wave.

In the bottle: Extremely pale, nearly colourless yellow oil. Sour milk and soapy, salty aquatic. A bit like cologne/aftershave, with some white florals. Vaguely tropical in feel. Not creamy.

BPAL description: Ripe purple plums, wildflowers, and cream.

In the bottle: Light yellow oil. Spicy, honeyed, creamy wildflowers. Gorgeous! I get carnation and/or clove (the spice). Not fruity, surprisingly.

In the bottle: Light peach-coloured oil. Heady, soapy florals and salty aquatic notes. I fear dragon's blood due to floral soap and colour. :\

BPAL description: The promise of a rose: red rose petals, fresh sap, and the sharp green scent of stem and leaf.

In the bottle: Colourless oil. Fresh, fruity red rose with a hint of wet, new green leaves. Much like Rose Red 05 (*not* the other years, though).

BPAL description: Red sandalwood, vanilla, rosewood, osmanthus, and white peach.

In the bottle: Extremely pale yellow, nearly colourless oil. Sweet, soft, and floral. I get loads of slightly citrusy osmanthus with a bit of white peach and slightly sharp rosewood.

BPAL description: Spun gold, tear-soaked straw, and rose-infused amber.

In the bottle: Bright sunshine-yellow oil. Rose! And something planty, maybe the straw? It's quite light. There's a sharp tang that could be the gold or the tears - a bit sour.

Wet: Same. Sort of sour rose. The tang seems more metallic, the planty note a bit more herbal. ( Read more... )

In the bottle: Sweet, smoky, dark incense. Slightly bitter, slightly soapy.

BPAL description: Thorn-spiked vines, blood, and tears.

BPAL description: Plum juice, lilac, leather, and a smattering of herbs.

In the bottle: Rich golden oil. Surprisingly dark and floral. Not much of the plum, and not what I'd call sweet. The lilac is strong, and the herbs tending towards dark and forceful. It's a bit sharp/slick.
